A new campaign from SA Health highlights the issue of elder abuse in our community. Know the signs and speak up. Help stop elder abuse.
If you see the signs of elder abuse in someone close to you, speak up.
Elder abuse is an act that causes deliberate or unintended harm to an older person.
Around 1 in 20 older Australians is experiencing some form of abuse from someone they know and trust, who is often a member of their own family.
People experiencing elder abuse may display fear, sadness and neglect, among other signs.
If you are in South Australia, you can contact the SA Elder Abuse Prevention Line on 1800 372 310 for confidential advice and support.
