behaviour
The way you act.
binge-eating disorder
An eating disorder. People with binge-eating disorder regularly binge eat. Most are also very concerned about their weight and body shape.
bipolar disorder
A mental illness that affects a person’s mood and energy levels. People with bipolar disorder have unusual ups and downs in mood and energy, which can be extreme. There are two types of bipolar disorder: bipolar I and bipolar II.
borderline personality disorder
A mental illness that makes it hard for a person to feel comfortable in themselves, causes problems controlling emotions and impulses and causes problems relating to other people.
brain stimulation treatment
A general term used to describe a range of medical treatments that involve direct stimulation of the brain using electrical impulses or magnetic fields. Examples are electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS).
bulimia nervosa
An eating disorder. People with bulimia nervosa regularly binge eat, and then compensate by trying to control their weight in extreme ways, such as by purging or exercising.
bulk bill
In Australia, when a doctor or other health-care provider only charges the same amount as the Medicare rebate, meaning you don’t have to pay for their service.
